True Rest

In Elizabeth Elliot's book Keep A Quiet Heart it has been so encouraging.
I could not read while I was sick because my eyes would hurt so badly but they are doing better now.
This part was so awesome and from the Lord because I really want this year to find myself casting my all on the Lord that the peace, rest and joy that I have longed for for so long might be part of my life. I want my children to learn that anything done apart from the Lord is futile and will not succeed. Anyway I hope this is encouraging to you.

Do you understand what is going on in the invisible realm of your life with God?Do you see how the visible things relate to the hidden Plan and Purpose? Probably not. As my second husband Addison Leitch used to say,"You can't unscrew the inscrutable." But you do see at least one thing, maybe a very little thing, that He wants you to do. "Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.It is not up in heaven.... nor is it beyond the sea.... no, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it" (Deut 30:11-14)
Let it suffice you, as it sufficed Mary, to know that God knows.If it's time to work, get on with your job. If it's time to go to bed , go to sleep in peace.Let the Lord of the Universe do the worrying.

Marriage

Christian was talking to us today about Abby's play rings. Here is our conversation.

C:Look at our rings mom and dad?

D:Wow those are beautiful.

C: I like to wear rings.

D: why?

C: because Abby and I are married.

D: for real?

C:no she is my sister but we are pretend married.

D:oh so do people always where rings when they are married?(Micah does not because his skin gets irritated)

C:no........ my mom does but you don't because you don't like it.........

But I will like it when I am big.

(Christian meant that he would like wearing a ring but the way it came out we had to laugh because it sounded like he meant marriage)

Well, the doctors were not sure what to think. The tests are not all back but they are unsure of what is going on so we will keep looking. The neurologist does not think it is anything to do with neurology. I am thankful to have a Lord who knows all the answers.
We will keep everyone posted. Thanks for all of your prayers.

more snow pics....

Snow Angels

My son has been asking for snow for well over a year and half to make snow angels..... and so we had to take advandtage of the day and have some old fashion fun. We had some much needed fun time. Christian and I stayed out by ourselves and had a great time and a long talk ( among some snowball fights) ( I had to pack his:)).

I love my kids!!!!!!! They are so much fun.

Submission not compliance

This morning's message was so awesome and straight from the Lord of what I needed to hear. It was about the difference between compliance and submission and how it is vital to be in submission and willingly obeying the Lord and pursuing our relationship with Him because He is the key to life...... HE IS LIFE!!!
The other point was made that as we go through things.... trials. It shows us where we are in our walk when we see how we go through it and where we end up when it is all done.
Do we ask ourselves where we are and are we completely casting ourselves on the Lord for our life?Or are we trying to live our lives in our own strength and failing.....
What a difference we can make in this Life and on this country if we operate in God's strength and will.... not our own.
Praise the Lord for the way He loves us and is intimately involved in all the details of our life.Let us make this the year that we depend totally and only on our Lord for and to be our everything: that He can make a difference!!!!!

Answers

Well we have our tests done. The MRI came back with good results.... veins and arteries look good. I had my spinal tap Friday. It went well. The doctor did a great job. The opening pressure was on the high end of normal but they felt comfortable with the results so that is not what they are concerned about. I am having weakness and vision blurriness in both eyes today but I am getting rest and we are all hanging in there.
Thanks for your prayers and support. I have an appt. Monday @ 130 with the neurologist to see the results of the spinal and where we go from here.

deals at Target....

OK so my husband has been excited about my deals and since I have not left the house except for doctor appointments and the hospital..... He went to target for me and got two good deals. Casacade complete 3 for $8 (he had to go to the counter to have the receipt fixed but they are usually 5.35 a piece!!!! And we got honeywellradiator looking electric heaters for 29.00 plus a five dollar gift card to target.....
I though I would share these. They are good through tonight....

Prayer

Hey there everyone.
Well... I guess I am going to use our blog to ask for prayer. I have been having headaches since
Jan 1st when I also had an episode where I lost vision in my right eye and weakness in my right arm. We have been having some testing done. I went to an eye doctor on Monday and they found that there was swelling in and behind my right eye. I am having a more specific MRI and a spinal tap on Friday. If everyone could just pray for wisdom for the doctors. For peace and strength for Micah and I. Micah has been so wonderful and supportive and I thank the Lord for him so much. He is such a gift.
We just need endurance and a willingness to say with you Lord yes anything that that comes and glorifies yes..........
Thanks to all of you for loving us, supporting us and being our friends and family in Christ.

Ok. Just wanted people to know that with my cybersitter it cuts out words from my blogs that it finds offensive that are not like and life at times. anyway if something does not make sense then please know that although I am absent minded and not the best speller I do have complete thoughts half of the time. Our Light

Matthew 6:21-23
"For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.
"The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
"But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

How we need to be careful of what our eyes and self are exposed to that we can be healthy lights and witnesses to those who are saved and unsaved.....

Let us be bright lights full of healthy light and not darkness for our precious Savior to use.!!

This really hit me today. The little song this little light of mine.... that I sing so often with my kids but yet are we being good lights for the Father...

Also we need to be aware of where our treasure lies. It is easy to figure out when you look at where your time is spent and what is most important to you. You make time for what you put as important. I am at fault with this. I struggle with not putting me first instead of the Lord and my family and marriage. But when we begin to correct my priorities I see the benefit and my heart follows my decision to obey.
It all seems so simple but we need the Lord's awesome strentgh to accomplish this. Simple yet dying to the flesh will be a fight until the end when the Lord takes us home and gives us ultimate victory over ,sin and hell.
Let us strive this year to make sure our treasure is fixed on the Lord Jesus Christ and that are actions follow this path instead of the many distractions the world and bring.

Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to Me, all you who alabor and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
"for My yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Life does not become easy and burdens are not easy to carry... but when you have the Lord jesus then you can allow Him to come and carry them for you and you can rest as a child that has run to his parent to be carried because of fatiuge and weariness. Our father wants to carry us through this life....
His yoke is easy, free and makes the load and heartache of light as He restores and carries us through.

Our High Priest

We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the majesty in the heavens. Hebrews 8:1
Thy right hand shall hold me. Psalm 139:10

Our Lord occupies a special position- "on the right hand" His is the place of utter for "angels and authorities and powers (are) made subject unto Him"(1 peter 3:22) And what of our place? Why, we are held in His right hand, so ours is the place of utter security.... What a priest! What a promise!!

God will take care of you, through every day,o'er all the way;
He will take care of you, God will take care of you.

This was the choice gleanings for today....

I love that our heavenly Father and our High priest lovingly hold us and never let us go and truly care about the little things in our lives as well as big ones. No detail is to small for huge, all powerful and all knowing Savior.
I love that He holds me and my family and friends that know Him in the palm of His hands...

Praise the Lord we are all Safe in his hand!!!
